Insurance Plans
We accept most major insurance plans, including many PPO plans and HMO plans affiliated with St. Joseph Hospital Affiliated Physicians (SJHAP) and St. Joseph Heritage Medical Group (SJHMG).Your copayment is expected at the time of each visit. The office accepts checks, money orders and most major credit cards.  MediCal and MediCaid accepted: please contact our office for details.
 
 
Hospitals and Surgery Centers
Dr. Akerman is affiliated with St. Joseph Hospital of Orange, Western Medical Center and CHOC (Pediatric and adolescent gynecology). He also has privileges at Surgery Center of Irvine and La Veta Surgical Center.
 
Holidays' schedule
The office will be closed on Jan. 1st, Presidents' Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

02/2013: Dr Akerman performed 17 free surgeries to underserved women in Latacunga, Ecuador (South America).
 
03/2013: Dr Akerman was named a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association.
 
02/2013: Dr Akerman will participate on a medical mission to Ecuador, South America.
 
11/09/12: Dr Akerman presented a case study product of his clinical research @ AAGL Global Congress on Minimal Invasive Gynecology.
 
 
11/01/11: St Joseph Hospital Affiliated Physicians recognized Dr Akerman for "demonstrating a Heart of Ministry and Mission and for continuing the Values of the Sisters of St Joseph of Orange".
